As a licensed child counselor who works with trauma of all kinds, I can say that Kim has done a marvelous job at making trauma and the brain easy to understand. She includes how to meet the needs of neurodivergent kids. Her writing style is conversational, real, and practical. I wanted to keep reading! Brianna Edwards, LMHC, QS Registered Play Therapist™, TBRI® Practitioner
I am a parent and I cannot stop crying with each page I read. This is putting words to our journey. It is raw for me, but I know it will be healing. I believe I will be giving the physical book to my pastor when it comes in, and letting him share it with youth and kids leaders. My church desperately needs this, but so did my own heart! Tiffany, mom of neurodivergent child
With a unique blend of trauma-informed insights and deeply personal stories, Kim skillfully bridges the gap between expert knowledge and everyday compassion. The book is accessible, engaging, and full of practical wisdom that empowers readers to understand and support hurting children in profound ways.... Lori Crosby, MFT, RPT-S, Co-Author of Trauma Informed Children’s Ministry, Co-Founder Reach Hurting Kids
As the mother of a child with autism, ADHD, and a few other ingredients in his neurological soup, grace has sometimes been in short supply. Kim Botto shines a light on the truth about our kids; She invites us to stop reacting to kids with unexpected behaviors, and start leaning in to provide presence and understanding instead of punishment and isolation. Kim provides practical, immediate strategies to make our kids feel safe, welcomed and loved. Kari A. Baker, Founder of KIND Families (Kids with Invisible Neurological Differences)
From beginning with our own attitudes and taking responsibility for our actions as we serve and know kids who are neurodivergent, Kim cites science-based tools and personal stories to help each family with a unique opportunity to help EVERY child have hope. Thank you, Kim helping give every family, ministry and child hope! Sam Fowler, Pastor of Children & Families
As I was reading Boundless Hope, I literally screenshot four pages to send to people . . .it was only the introduction. I feel like you’ve already summed up the reminders I need daily in my home if 10. . . Your book will help many!! 💗I was in tears within the first couple of pages, good sign. 🫣😅 Tabitha Goldsmith, Adoptive mom of 8, Life & Health Coach, and Ministry Leader
What a treasure this book will be for ministry leaders, educators and anyone who works with kids. So many times you read books that teach you how important it is to welcome all children, but they don't really give practical ways to do so. Thank you for giving me words to teach someone how to do what I knew to do, but didn’t necessarily know how to verbalize. Andrea Roseman, Access Ministry Director
I'm the mom of 5, grandma of 11. For the past several decades, I’ve led children’s and student ministries in the local church while also leading initiatives around adoption and foster care. Sixteen of those years were at Crossroads, one of the largest and fastest growing churches in the country (according to Outreach Magazine) with sites in Kentucky and Ohio. I also served as Director of Training and Development at a Cincinnati nonprofit serving multi-system involved youth. I've helped train thousands of children's ministry staff, educators, parents and nonprofit staff on engaging neurodivergent kids/teens and trauma informed care.
As an adoptive mom and advocate for kids and teens with disabilities, my passion is creating safe, welcoming and fun environments for all kids—regardless of their background, behavior or unique needs—so they can better experience God and grow in their faith. Church should be a safe and fun place for EVERY KID/TEEN. Through speaking, writing and coaching I work with parents, church leaders and organizations to equip volunteer and staff teams, strengthen families and support parents.
When we know better we do better, so together let's come together to learn new techniques and strategies to respond to challenging behavior, help kids grow and heal and in the process we'll grow and heal too.
