Join us for a practical, encouraging conversation about equipping volunteers to engage and disciple kids with diverse needs in ministry. Kim Botto will go share an outline of volunteer training that you can implement in your space. As always we'll include time for Q&A.
Meeting times are: Thursday, April 3, 10-11am; Tuesday, April 8, 12:30-1:30pm;. All times are EST. Everyone who registers, even if they don't attend, will get email with recaps and resources. Both sessions will be led by Kim with input from other kidmin leaders attending! Can't wait!
I've served on staff and as a volunteer in small churches and in multi-site mega churches. Regardless of the size, demographic or location of your church, we're better when we're in community. Don't you wish you could join with others passionate about children's ministry to encourage one another, share ideas and grow? While it would be great to join around a table in our favorite coffee shop, many don't have those opportunities locally. So we're doing the next best thing - a Kids Ministry Leader Virtual Hangout.
Recently I've talked to many ministry leaders, especially those serving in children's ministry, who feel alone and isolated. So I asked, "Want to do a virtual coffee date?" and the response was a big YES! I volunteered to schedule a couple virtual hangouts. Kids and Student Ministry Leaders are my favorite and I'd love to provide the opportunity for YOU to get encouragement and build new friendships.
Imagine you go to a coffee shop with several other children's ministry leaders. What would you do? Get to know each other a bit, share challenges and wins, while encouraging one another. That's what we'll do virtually. Maybe you'll hit it off especially with a few. My hope is that you'll continue to connect outside of these virtual hangouts. Our goal is to combat loneliness and increase your longevity in ministry by helping you build your community. Topics are based on participant feedback.
Leaders from across the world (literally leaders from across the nation and many countries) have attended. Everyone who attends is a currently leading in the local church in ministry or working with kids in another setting. Depending on topic, parents may also attend. All are welcome. Discussion will be focused on ministry setting as we support ministry leaders.
We will meet monthly.. My hope is that many local and virtual groups grow out of this so that EVERY single children's ministry leader has others to process challenges, celebrate wins, pray for each other and offer support on a regular basis.
