I'm the mom of 5, grandma of 10. For the past several decades, I’ve led children’s and student ministries in the local church while also leading initiatives around adoption and foster care. Sixteen of those years were at Crossroads, one of the largest and fastest growing churches in the country (according to Outreach Magazine) with sites in Kentucky and Ohio. I also served as Director of Training and Development at a Cincinnati nonprofit serving multi-system involved youth. I've helped train thousands of children's ministry staff, educators, parents and nonprofit staff on engaging neurodivergent kids/teens and trauma informed care.
As an adoptive mom and advocate for kids and teens with disabilities, my passion is creating safe, welcoming and fun environments for all kids—regardless of their background, behavior or unique needs—so they can better experience God and grow in their faith. Church should be a safe and fun place for EVERY KID/TEEN. Through speaking, writing and coaching I work with parents, church leaders and organizations to equip volunteer and staff teams, strengthen families and support parents.
When we know better we do better, so together let's come together to learn new techniques and strategies to respond to challenging behavior, help kids grow and heal and in the process we'll grow and heal too.

We can all impact kids. Regardless of a kid's background, behavior or unique needs we can be a safe adult in their life, helping them reach their full potential. When we see a kid who seems out of control, defiant or disobedient, instead of asking "what's wrong with you?" let's consider how we can provide hope and healing.
